Read MoreWelcome to my professional website. I'm a passionate genetic counselor dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate genetic information to make informed healthcare decisions.
Dedicated to empathetic genetic counseling and education to help individuals and families navigate complex genetic information.
I recently completed my MS in Genetic Counseling at Boise State University, where I received recognition for demonstrating counseling skills beyond those of a typical student. During my clinical rotations in Montana and Washington, I earned accolades for my thorough case preparation, excellent documentation, rapport building, and ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds.
My approach to genetic counseling is built on a foundation of empathetic, honest, and considerate interactions. Before pursuing genetic counseling, I was a successful secondary science teacher, working with over 1,500 students and families both stateside and internationally. This experience taught me to value diversity, individuality, and to understand each person within the context of their families and communities.
I'm committed to being a bridge between complex genetic science and the individuals who need this information to make informed healthcare decisions. Whether working with oncology patients, expectant parents, or those with rare genetic conditions, my goal is to provide compassionate guidance that empowers each person on their unique health journey.
Helping prospective parents understand genetic risks and make informed family planning decisions.
Ensuring patients have access to appropriate genetic services and clear communication about their options.
Breaking down complex genetic concepts into understandable information for patients from diverse backgrounds.
Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for all patients and supporting them through difficult decisions.
